The Ontario Provincial
Shield of Arms (which is present in the Coat of Arms and
Provincial Flag) which was granted after confederation in 1868. The
gold maple leaves represent Ontario as maples are common in this province.
The cross of St. George, represents the English heritage of many of the
people in Ontario at that time period, as well as being a reference to
King George III. |
